Our Story
For His Glory Wrestling Camp was started in 2021 by Coach Troy Seubert & Coach Justin Miller with the idea of providing young people opportunities to hear about & experience how God intersects with athletes through the sport of wrestling. We've been deeply impacted by God's presence in our lives, & we believe it's good for us, no matter how young or old, to talk openly with each other about these topics & truths that society so often encourages us to suppress. Our hope is that our campers, no matter where they are at with their beliefs, will be encouraged to seek God for themselves, to love him, & to love one another.
The defining bible verse for our camp is from Romans 11:36 NLT & says "Everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for His Glory. All glory to him forever! Amen." We take this to mean, at least in part, that we can & should seek to bring Glory to God through our participation in wrestling. Our goal is to teach & display ways to do just that.
Unity > Division
For His Glory Wrestling Camp is not affiliated with any specific religious denomination. Troy, Justin, the guest speakers & the clinicians that serve at our camp come from a variety of different Christian backgrounds. We believe it's important to lay aside our differences so that we can unify around a central & simple message of the Bible.
"I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose."
-1 Corinthians 1:10 NLT
"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples."
-John 13:35 NLT
A Central & Simple Message
God is characterized by love, perfection, and holiness
"I will proclaim the name of the Lord; how glorious is our God!
He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair.
He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is! ...God is love."
-Deuteronomy 32:3-4 & 1 John 4:8 NLT
God is Creator of all things and He made us in His image
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...
God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them..."
-Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:27 NLT
All have sinned and deserve God's justice
"For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard
... [and] sin's payment is death."
-Romans 3:23 NLT & Romans 6:23 TLV
"And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment"
-Hebrews 9:27 NLT
"God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad."
-Ecclesiastes 12:14 NLT
Justice was served for our sin when Jesus died on the cross
"Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners...
You were dead because of your sins... Then God made you alive with Christ,
for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us
and took it away by nailing it to the cross."
-Romans 5:6 & Colossians 2:13-14 NLT
And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him
-1 John 3:5 NLT
He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone... He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.
-1 Peter 2:22, 24 NLT
"Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all."
-Isaiah 53:4-6 NLT
Sin and death were defeated when Jesus rose from dead
...we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves
were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives...
We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead,
and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him."
-Romans 6:5-9 NLT
Trust in Jesus makes us right with God
"But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God."
-1 John 1:12 NLT
"God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin,
so that we could be made right with God through Christ."
-2 Corinthians 5:21 NLT
“The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”
-Mark 1:15 NLT
"I become righteous through faith in Christ.
For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith."
-Philippians 3:9 NLT
"If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God."
-Romans 10:9-10 NLT
Our purpose in life is to love God and love one another
"Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
-Mark 12:29-31 NLT
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
-Romans 12:1-2 NLT
Life has many difficulties, however God promises to be with us
"In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world...
Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
John 16:33 & Hebrews 13:5 NIV
“If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth."
John 14:15-17 NLT
This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9 NLT
We will live with God forever
"For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son [Jesus]
and believes in him should have eternal life"
-John 6:40 ESV
“Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them,
and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death
or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
-Revelation 21:3-4 NLT
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am."
-John 14:1-3 NLT
